Home Telemarketing: Fact Or Fiction?
Many classified ads contain job advertisements promising that telemarketers who work from home make as much or more money as those who work in a call center. There are even some that claim earning potentials of thousands in the first week. It's only smart to be skeptical of such claims, but are there really work from home telemarketing jobs?
Actually there are such jobs. For many people a work from home telemarketing job is a great way to make money, if coupled with quality products and support. However, these jobs are not in great abundance. The quality work from home jobs are not easy to find and must be sorted out of the vast majority of undesirable clones. Those who want to find this line of work may have to spend significant time and effort searching for the few legitimate opportunities.
The Six Best Jobs for Working At Home
Every day I get email asking me how to find legitimate work-at-home jobs. I have to say this always baffles me because every week I wade through thousands of jobs to find a select few to post in my weekly newsletter. The problem I believe is that people look for the wrong jobs in the wrong places. They often limit themselves to jobs like "typing" or "data entry" that are so rare they might as well give up on the idea of working at home.
My suggestion to them is to find work in areas that are hiring. There are many companies looking for home-based employees to do work that doesn't necessarily require a great deal of experience or education. So why not go after these jobs?

Home Depot's Nardelli's fatal flaw: failing to understand new ...
Robert Nardelli's demise as chief executive of Home Depot resulted, in part, from his failure to understand how profoundly the job of CEO has changed in recent years. Mr. Nardelli was old school. In an interview last fall, as his public-relations problems were compounding, he acknowledged he had gotten "too focused on the idea that you do your job, you take care of your numbers, and the rest will take care of itself." Some of Mr. Nardelli's numbers were hard to argue with. In six years on the job, he doubled Home Depot's sales and more than doubled its earnings.
What Mr. Nardelli missed, however, is that in the post-Enron world, CEOs have been forced to respond to a widening array of shareholder advocates, hedge funds, private-equity deal makers, legislators, regulators, attorneys general, nongovernmental organizations and countless others who want a say in how public companies manage their affairs.
Software battle adds to Porter tax bill wait
Assessors throughout Porter County were back online Friday and work should return to normal Monday after computer software issues wreaked havoc much of the week.
But in another week and a half, the issue might arise again.
And then there's the issue of who's to blame -- the state, the software company or former assessor Shirley LaFever.
The county and township assessors were not able to access assessment data this week until Friday after a deal was reached with Manatron, the assessor's office's software supplier. The deal allows access to the software for another seven working days.
The county's contract with Manatron for a software product called eCAMA expired on Dec. 31. Typically, those contracts are automatically renewed on a yearly basis, county attorney Gwenn Rinkenberger said.
