Text of Gov. Joe Manchin's State of the State address
At this time last year, we were mourning the recent deaths of our courageous and dedicated Sago miners -- and hoping for the recovery of our lone survivor Randal McCloy, Jr. Never could we have imagined that our suffering as a mining state was only just beginning. As you know, one short week later we were once again left to pray for men trapped in a deep mine not long after they had kissed their families goodbye and headed off to work. And once again, we would sadly discover that their safe return was not meant to be.

Apple Reinvents The Phone
I have a fairly cool phone. I have a Motorola Razr: Bluetooth enabled, ultra-thin and with a decent digital camera. Until a couple of hours ago, I was pretty pleased with it. That was until I saw the new iPhone, introduced today at Macworld.
Now I haven't actually seen it in person, but reporter Sharon Gaudin did. However, it doesn't take much more than a glimpse at Apple's home page to determine the iPhone's coolness factor is very high. What really caught my eye is its Web browser. Most people I know don't use a regular phone to go online. If they need to use the Web, they have a BlackBerry, Treo, or some sort of PDA for that purpose. Until now.
Current Mac users will recognize the Safari browser. But you don't have to be a Mac user to have the phone automatically sync bookmarks from your Mac or PC.

Voices for Kids needs volunteers. This non-profit organization works in partnership with the Guardian Ad Litem Program 20th Judicial Court. They ensure that every abused and neglected child in Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Glades and Hendry counties has a court appointed Guardian Ad Litem volunteer and that financial assistance and other resources are available for their accompanying health, educational and social needs. Opportunities include Advisory Board/Committee Members, special project volunteers and fundraisers.
